JOB SUMMARY:
Crane Performance Siding, a Crane Building Products Company and industry leader in the design and manufacture of vinyl siding and exterior cladding products offered through Exterior Portfolio by Crane, has an immediate opportunity for a Cost Accountant. The Cost Accountant is responsible to perform all daily duties related to cost accounting. Includes all analysis and reporting to management on product variances and productivity. Help in budgeting process in setting up work center rates. Various other accounting related functions.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual closing responsibilities
  • Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow Preparation
  •  Ensures accurate preparation and balancing of weekly and special payrolls.
  • Handles various payroll adjustments, including various statutory and voluntary deductions.
  • Prepares payroll reports and maintains payroll files.
  • Assists AP Specialist with weekly duties and work load
  • Works with and Supports A/R and A/P functions.

 

Discretionary and Independent Judgement Requirement:

  •  Reviews and assures compliance with payroll policies and procedures and recommends improvements.
  • Acts as liaison with outside computer payroll processing company, including transmitting payroll, securing reports, problem resolution, and error correction.
  • Prepares periodic related analysis, statements, and projections.
  • Resolves payroll account discrepancies by investigating documentation and making adjustments.
  • Responsible for planning, training, implementation, and maintenance of new timekeeping system.
  • Track fringe benefit costs and other statistics for management decision-making, planning, and budgeting. Tracks, Computes and pays all Sales Commissions

 

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:

  • Must be able to keep up-to-date and comply with Federal, State, and local legal requirements and advise management when necessary.
  • Ability to deal professionally, courteously, and efficiently with employees who have payroll questions or problems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business management preferred. 
  • Three years of computerized accounting & payroll experience is necessary.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and personnel information is mandatory.
